It was a sunny Sunday, I decided to choose a restaurant by the river. It was suggested to me actually. The weblink I was given signaled it was wheelchair accessible and LGBQ+ friendly (?!). We were a party of four from different parts of London so the proximity to Jubilee Line was useful. We were offered mint tea (delicious) and we had a selection of tapas to start with. Now we were a bit underwhelmed by the tapas – we had a portion of Crispy Fried Tempura Cod, unanimously agreed as neither crispy nor tempura.
Norman’s Tagliatelle Gamberoni was definitely the best of the mains. I thought our paellas were closer to risottos, they were too moist. I’ve had paellas in different regions of Spain and I know what to expect, what they offered were not it! The chicken was reported to be ok.
We thought the service although friendly was a tad slow but hey, its Sunday and we were catching up with our individual news. We were curious but we did not question as to why we were also given a Ukrainian menu. We didn’t try it. The ambiance was good, there was no noisy music and we enjoyed each other’s company. We ended the afternoon with a stroll by the River Thames passed the cable car and Damien Hirst statues.
