Pot Pie at Le Pain Quotidien, St Pancras

I went up to London for a meeting –  I was hungry by the end of the afternoon because I did not get to have lunch, all the pubs we checked near Grays Inn Road proved inaccesible. So we ended up at St Pancras because a colleaque fancied the ambiance there. ‘Let’s pretend we ‘re travelling to France’.

We spotted Le Pain Quotidien , I needed some hot food so I asked for a pot pie withchicken and organic vegetables. The others decided on hot beverages – they were going on to dinner elsewhere. I was taking the train home.

The pastry was light and fluffy and just ‘floated’ on the 3/4 pieces of chicken with the vegetables in a creamy sauce. It was tasty, however, not that satisfying if you were ravenous from not having eaten since a slice of toast for breakfast. I was still peckish at the end of the meal.

However there was good company and the hustle and bustle of the train station added something to the experience.

St Pancras, London, has a range of shops and restaurants.
