Fish fillets (Szechuan Boiled fish, shui zhu yu) in hot chilli oil, French beans with minced pork and cold pork in chilli oil
Sometimes I think I cannot keep up with change over in restaurants. I wrote about the China Express sometime back only to return to find that its been replaced by the Han Dynasty. The Han Dynasty chain of restaurants started in Coventry and now is back with its specialty of hotpots and Chinese BBQ.
My party of four did not want hotpot but shui zhu yu, Szechuan boiled fish which is what we had, accompanied by French green haricot beans and a cold starter of pork with chilli oil. The fish was very tender as it should be and the chilli oil was not over hot for my palate. It was lovely with the plain rice and the crunchiness of the beans. Our Japanese visitor was quite pleased with her lunch.
