“How can you eat soup when it is such hot weather?”  I was asked. I love soup, I grew up in a hot country drinking soup almost daily. Recently, I discovered Vincy Kitchen,  Market Way, Coventry market. Fantastic change from the ubiquitous sandwich.

Anyway I thought I d write about it. There are not many places you can get takeaway Carribean soup. He also does jerk chicken and curried chicken and lamb and salt fish fritters.

It was chicken soup. It was pungent, redolent of Caribean spices. Definitely pepper. I had it with a fried dumpling – of course, what else? It was fluffy not heavy as it could be. A good accompaniment. The taste stayed in my mouth long after it was finished!

Chicken soup was £3 and an extra £ for the dumpling.
